Red Bull and Ferrari have both endured significant setbacks in the early stages of the 2025 Formula 1 season, with their performances dropping notably compared to the same period last year. After five rounds in 2024, Red Bull sat comfortably at the top of the Constructors’ Championship with 195 points, closely followed by Ferrari on 151. However, this season has painted a very different picture for the two powerhouse teams.
Red Bull, which dominated much of last year, has seen its points tally fall by a staggering 54.36% compared to their 2024 total after five races. Ferrari, while slightly better off, has still experienced a major slump, collecting 48.34% fewer points than they had at this stage last season. Neither team has yet crossed the 100-point threshold in the standings, highlighting the extent of their struggles so far in 2025.
In contrast, McLaren and Mercedes have capitalized on the shifting dynamics at the front of the grid. McLaren currently leads the Constructors’ Championship with 188 points, nearly doubling their performance from this point in 2024 with a 95.83% increase. Their strong start has made them the team to beat as the season progresses.
Mercedes, too, has shown significant improvement. The Brackley-based team has amassed 111 points so far
