To commemorate the final performance of legendary metal band Black Sabbath, guitarist Tony Iommi has joined forces with UK amplifier brand Laney to unveil a special, ultra-limited signature amp. This exclusive release also marks the comeback of a beloved amplifier model that hasn’t been produced in over 13 years.
The amp is a modern revival of the classic GH100TI, originally introduced in the late 1990s and discontinued in 2011. Known for delivering the crushing tone that became Iommi’s signature sound, the new version blends vintage character with updated features designed for today’s guitarists.
Timed with the anniversary of Sabbath’s final show in Birmingham the band’s hometown the amp celebrates their lasting influence on heavy music. With production strictly limited, it’s being hailed as both a high-performance piece of gear and a valuable collector’s item.
Iommi shared his enthusiasm about the project, saying, “It’s great to see this amp return. It played a big role in shaping my sound, and I’m proud to work with Laney again to bring it back in a fresh form.”
Laney, who has supported Iommi since the earliest days of Sabbath, emphasized that the reissued amp remains faithful to its original tone while incorporating modern improvements in durability and functionality.
For fans and musicians, the amp is more than just a product it’s a tribute to one of metal’s most influential figures and a powerful reminder of the music that helped define a genre.
