In a fitting tribute to the end of an era, Black Sabbath icon Tony Iommi has partnered once again with British amplifier manufacturer Laney to release an exclusive, ultra-limited signature amp. The release commemorates the band’s historic final performance and marks the return of a classic amplifier model that hasn’t been seen in over 13 years.
Dubbed a celebration of legacy, the new amp not only honors the pioneering sound that Iommi and Black Sabbath created but also revives one of Laney’s most revered models the GH100TI, first introduced in the late 1990s and last produced in 2011. The limited-edition version comes updated for modern players but stays true to its vintage roots, delivering the crushing tones that defined heavy metal’s earliest days.
The amp’s relaunch coincides with the anniversary of Sabbath’s last show, which took place in Birmingham in 2017, the city where the legendary group was born. With only a small number of units being produced, the amp is being touted as both a collector’s item and a powerful tool for serious musicians.
Speaking about the release, Iommi said, “It feels great to bring this amp back. It was a huge part of my sound, and working with Laney to make it available again – even in such limited numbers is really special.”
Laney, which has had a long-standing relationship with Iommi dating back to the earliest Black Sabbath records, describes the amp as a faithful resurrection with modern durability and performance upgrades.
For fans of heavy music and gear collectors alike, this limited-edition amp represents more than just equipment it’s a piece of rock history.
