Death-Metal Tribute Band Left To Die Blasts In Australia This March
In a heavy-metal first, US death-metal tribute band Left To Die—headed by ex-members of Death Terry Butler (bass) and Rick Rozz (guitar)—embarks on its first ever Australian tour this March 2025, performing classic Death favorites like Scream Bloody Gore and Leprosy in seven cities across the country.
The tour starts on Sunday, March 2, at Hobart’s Altar, and continues to Perth’s Rosemount Hotel (March 4), Adelaide’s Jive (March 5), Brisbane’s Soapbox (March 6), Canberra’s The Baso (March 7), and Sydney’s The Underground (March 8), before concluding with a headlining set at Melbourne Dethfest 2025 on March 9 .
Left To Die also organized a second Melbourne show on March 10 at the Gasometer Hotel, featuring special guests Alarum, Odiusembowel, and Vexation .
Hyped as the ultimate Florida-styled Death-Metal experience, completing the bill are Gus Rios (drums) and Matt Harvey (guitar/vocals), both of Gruesome (also Exhumed and Malevolent Creation), bringing raw brutality and authenticity to the stage .
Fans will be able to witness full album sets of Leprosy and Scream Bloody Gore—a rare treat, given that Chuck Schuldiner died in 2001—both replicating the early ’80s death‑metal sound in all its fury .
General-admission ($73-$75 AUD) and VIP packages (including sound-check, signed posters, and meet-and-greet) sold quickly at venues across the nation .
For Australian metal fans still to witness a Death sighting in their territory, this reconstituted, brutalist tribute brutality is the next best thing—and it’s coming this March.
