Formula 1 has announced a last-minute change to the 2025 race calendar, confirming that one of the scheduled Grands Prix will be moved to a new date following unforeseen logistical challenges. The sport’s governing body issued an official statement on Tuesday morning, outlining the reasoning behind the late switch and its impact on the season schedule.

The revised calendar sees the affected Grand Prix shifted either forward or back by one week, in a move F1 says was made “to ensure smoother travel logistics and better conditions for teams, personnel, and fans.

While F1 did not immediately name the exact race involved in the official announcement, insiders suggest it could be a flyaway round such as Japan, China, or one of the Middle Eastern events, where freight and weather complications often require contingency planning.

“Following discussions with local organizers and stakeholders, we’ve made the decision to adjust the calendar to maintain operational efficiency across the season,” the statement reads.

The late decision has already triggered adjustments to team logistics, hospitality bookings, and fan travel plans, with several teams reportedly caught off guard by the timing.

Fans with tickets for the affected race will be contacted by local promoters regarding validity, rescheduling options, and refund policies, according to F1.

This marks the latest in a string of calendar reshuffles in recent years, as the sport continues to balance a record number of races with demanding global travel schedules.

Further updates are expected shortly as F1 releases the full revised 2025 calendar.
