Nicko McBrain Makes Comeback to Stage with Tribute Band “Titanium Tart”

Having retired from Iron Maiden touring back in December 2024, legendary drummer Nicko McBrain has returned to the live scene—but this time on a much smaller, more intimate level. The 73‑year‑old legend is staging a string of shows in Florida later this July with his own Iron Maiden tribute band, Titanium Tart .

???? Florida Tour Lineup:
• July 17 – Sebastian, Capt Hiram’s
• July 19 – Pompano Beach, Piper’s Pub
• July 25 – Sanford, The Barn
• July 26 – Clearwater, OCC Road House

Titanium Tart is comprised of regional performers Paolo Velazquez (vocals), guitarists Mike Rivera and Mitch Tanne, bassist Rob Stokes, and keyboardist Eldad Kira.

Why This Matters

McBrain retired from Iron Maiden’s hectic touring after suffering from a stroke in January 2023 and ongoing health problems, including trouble with his right arm and sciatica. Despite months of therapy and by-the-book setlists on the “Future Past” tour, he retired on December 7, 2024, following his final show in São Paulo.

In spite of this, McBrain never lost his passion for drumming. He debuted at Titanium Tart this year and has remained individually interested in the work and business of Iron Maiden . He even drummed again for charity on January 25, 2025 .

What to Expect

Fans at these Florida shows can look forward to an emotional tribute to Iron Maiden’s legacy in the hands of McBrain’s unwavering dedication. With local talent filling in important roles and venues that foster personal connections, the shows offer a unique experience to see the legend live.

Looking Ahead

While Iron Maiden continue on their “Run For Your Lives” tour (utilizing touring drummer Simon Dawson), McBrain is still an official member of the band participating in other off-stage activities. Titanium Tart appears to be continuing, pointing the way to more live shows or recordings in the works.

Briefly, Nicko McBrain’s return to stage life—albeit as his own man—means a new and poignant chapter in his life. It’s an affirmation of determination, heritage, and the unchanging heart of rock ‘n’ roll.
