Broncos Owner Greg Penner Critiques One Uniform Combo from 2024 Season
The Denver Broncos unveiled their revamped uniforms for the 2024 season, sparking mixed reactions from fans. During a recent end-of-season press conference, team owner and CEO Greg Penner acknowledged the diverse opinions surrounding the new designs.
“The fans’ perceptions varied,” Penner said. “Some loved the changes, and others weren’t as enthusiastic, which is to be expected. What stood out, though, is how much the fans care about our uniforms.”
The Broncos sported 13 different uniform combinations throughout the season, including a nod to their past with throwback designs. According to Penner, the throwback uniforms were a fan favorite, and he shared similar sentiments. “Unanimously, I think everybody loved the throwbacks. I also like the navy jerseys paired with the snow-capped helmets. Those are great. And the core uniform looked really sharp as well,” he added.
While most of the combinations received praise, Penner admitted there was one pairing he wasn’t fond of. “The one combination I wasn’t crazy about was the blue socks, orange pants, and blue jersey,” Penner said. “Maybe we won’t do that one again.”
Despite his critique of that specific look, Penner expressed overall satisfaction with how the uniforms were received and showcased throughout the season.
The uniform refresh marked a significant step for the Broncos, as it was the team’s first major redesign in years. While fans and critics shared a range of opinions, the variety of options, including the throwbacks and snow-capped helmets, offered something for everyone.
Looking ahead, the team may refine its uniform strategy based on fan feedback and internal preferences. Penner’s comments suggest the Broncos are open to adjusting combinations that didn’t resonate while building on the success of the more popular designs.
As the Broncos continue to evolve on and off the field, the new uniforms reflect their commitment to blending tradition with a modern twist—though some experiments, like the blue-orange-blue combo, may not return.
