The pair officially debuted together at Ferrari in January, with Hamilton joining the Scuderia for the 2025 season. The duo showcased their new red race suits, sparking excitement for their potential as a competitive pairing. If Ferrari can provide them with a race-winning car, a thrilling title fight between the two is expected.

Before their race debut, Hamilton and Leclerc completed tests for Ferrari in Barcelona, where they revealed more than just their performance on the track. The drivers also unveiled their helmet designs for the upcoming season. Leclerc’s helmet features the red and white colors of the Monaco flag, while Hamilton’s design harkens back to the yellow scheme he used during his McLaren and Mercedes days, evoking nostalgia from his early F1 career.

Hamilton, however, has had a somewhat rocky start with Ferrari. During the Barcelona test, he crashed, continuing a pattern of incidents during testing with new teams. In fact, throughout his F1 career, Hamilton has experienced crashes during his first test sessions with every new team, including McLaren and Mercedes, before going on to win the drivers’ title the following year. Fans are now wondering if his yellow helmet will continue to bring him success in his new chapter at Ferrari.

A recent GPFans poll asked F1 fans to choose their favorite of the new helmet designs, and Hamilton secured a decisive victory over Leclerc. A staggering 79% of respondents voted for Hamilton’s yellow helmet, while Leclerc’s design garnered just 21%. This marks a crushing first defeat for Leclerc against the seven-time world champion in their debut season together.

The teammates will return to the track for Pirelli’s 2026 tire test in Barcelona on February 4-5, before heading to Bahrain for crucial pre-season testing from February 26-28.
