In fact, throughout his F1 career, Hamilton has experienced crashes during his first test sessions with every new team, including McLaren and Mercedes, before going on to win the drivers’ title the following year. A recent GPFans poll asked F1 fans to choose their favorite of the new helmet designs, and Hamilton secured a decisive victory over Leclerc. A staggering 79% of respondents voted for Hamilton’s yellow helmet, while Leclerc’s design garnered just 21%. This marks a crushing first defeat for Leclerc against the seven-time world champion in their debut season together.
The teammates will return to the track for Pirelli’s 2026 tire test in Barcelona on February 4-5, before heading to Bahrain for crucial pre-season testing from February 26-28.
