BREAKING NEWS: Lewis Hamilton breaks silence on Angela Cullen reunion at Ferrari
Seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton has expressed his delight at being reunited with his former physiotherapist, Angela Cullen, as he embarks on a new chapter with Ferrari in 2025. Cullen played a pivotal role in Hamilton’s dominant years at Mercedes, providing invaluable support throughout his racing career.
However, Cullen made the surprise decision to leave Hamilton’s team in early 2023. The pair has now reunited, with Cullen joining Hamilton at Ferrari for the 2025 season. Hamilton spoke to Sky Sports on the second day of pre-season testing at the Bahrain International Circuit, where he shared his excitement about Cullen’s return.
“It’s always important to have a good foundation of people around me,” Hamilton said. “I’ve generally had a very good base for many, many years. I still have all the team that I had last year, but I’ve brought Angie on top of that. We have a great relationship, me and Ange.”
Hamilton and Cullen have a long-standing relationship, having worked together since 2016. Cullen’s return to Hamilton’s inner circle is a significant boost to the 40-year-old driver as he adapts to his new team and car. Hamilton revealed that he had asked Cullen to join him at Ferrari, and she had accepted, which he described as “pretty exciting.”
The reunion has been a seamless one, with Hamilton and Cullen quickly falling into their familiar routine. “We’ve been having a blast,” Hamilton said. “This past month together has been really awesome.” As Hamilton continues to get accustomed to his new Ferrari SF-25, Cullen’s presence is likely to provide a sense of comfort and familiarity.
Hamilton’s adaptation process is ongoing, and he is working tirelessly to get up to speed ahead of the first race of the season. The 40-year-old has been encouraged by his time in the SF-25, revealing that he is “really enjoying the car.” However, he conceded that it is still “too early” to say whether the new Ferrari suits him more than last year’s Mercedes.
Hamilton’s struggles in 2024, particularly in qualifying, are well-documented. He beat his teammate George Russell on only five occasions throughout the season. However, with Cullen back by his side and a new chapter unfolding at Ferrari, Hamilton is optimistic about the season ahead. As he continues to work with his team and fine-tune his driving, Hamilton will be hoping to rediscover his winning form and mount a strong challenge for the championship.
