The Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team has officially confirmed that George Russell will take part in the British Grand Prix, easing concerns that arose overnight regarding his health.

In a statement released early Sunday, the team announced that Russell had undergone precautionary medical checks after feeling slightly unwell. Following evaluations by both Mercedes medical staff and FIA officials, he was cleared to race.

“George completed routine medical assessments this morning due to mild symptoms and has now been approved to compete in today’s race,” the team shared.

Russell also commented on the situation, expressing gratitude to fans and confirming his readiness:

“Wasn’t feeling 100% overnight, but I’m a lot better now and have been cleared to race. Excited to get out there for my home Grand Prix.”

Team Principal Toto Wolff praised Russell’s professionalism and resilience, emphasizing the team’s full backing.

With his participation confirmed, any speculation of a withdrawal has been dismissed, and Russell is set to start near the front in what could be a crucial race for Mercedes at Silverstone.
