Fernando Alonso has received a final medical verdict from the FIA following his unexpected absence from the Hungarian Grand Prix, sparking fresh speculation over his immediate racing future.
The two-time world champion missed the Budapest race weekend due to what his team described as a “precautionary measure” related to a minor health issue. Initial reports suggested the Aston Martin driver had been feeling unwell in the days leading up to the event, prompting the FIA to withhold clearance until a full medical assessment was completed.
Now, following a thorough evaluation by FIA medical officials, Alonso has been given the all-clear to return to Formula 1 racing duties. The governing body confirmed that the 43-year-old Spaniard is fit to compete at the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps.
Aston Martin released a brief statement saying:
“Fernando has undergone all necessary medical checks and has been declared fit to race by the FIA. He is fully focused on returning to the cockpit in Belgium and continuing the strong momentum we’ve built this season.”
