Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur has addressed Lewis Hamilton’s upcoming move to the team for the 2025 season, making it clear that Ferrari won’t replicate the operational style Hamilton experienced at Mercedes. Vasseur stated, “We’re not going to copy-paste Mercedes for Lewis,” emphasizing that Hamilton will need to adapt to Ferrari’s distinctive approach. Vasseur expressed confidence that Hamilton’s vast experience in Formula 1 will help him transition smoothly.

The negotiations to secure Hamilton were described as straightforward, with Vasseur noting the team’s recent progress and Hamilton’s long-standing desire to join Ferrari. On potential rivalry with current driver Charles Leclerc, Vasseur dismissed any concerns, highlighting the mutual respect between the two drivers and stressing that constructive competition will benefit the team.

Hamilton’s decision to switch to Ferrari marks a major shift after years of dominance with Mercedes. Ferrari plans to unveil their 2025 car on February 19 in Maranello, though the timing of Hamilton’s debut on the track is still to be decided.

Vasseur’s remarks reflect Ferrari’s commitment to preserving its identity while successfully incorporating a driver of Hamilton’s stature into its lineup.
