Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s ‘Back To The Beginning’ Coming to Cinemas in 2026

Legendary heavy metal pioneers Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath are set to make a thunderous return to the big screen with their upcoming cinematic project titled Back To The Beginning, slated for a global theatrical release in 2026.

The film will serve as a powerful documentary and concert experience, chronicling the roots of the band’s historic formation in Birmingham, England, their rise to fame, and the cultural impact they had on the world of rock and metal. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jonas Åkerlund, Back To The Beginning promises an intimate and raw look at the origins of the band that defined a genre.

What makes this project particularly special is Ozzy Osbourne’s active involvement. Despite his ongoing health challenges and semi-retirement from touring, the Prince of Darkness is contributing narration, rare interviews, and personal insights to give fans an unfiltered perspective of the band’s early years. “This is where it all started,” Ozzy shared in a statement. “We wanted to tell the story the way it really was—loud, crazy, and full of fire.”

The film will feature never-before-seen archival footage, early demo recordings, and restored live performances that capture the raw energy of Black Sabbath’s formative years. Fans can also expect interviews from fellow bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and rare appearances from past collaborators.

Distributed by a major global film company (yet to be officially announced), Back To The Beginning will premiere in select cinemas worldwide, followed by a limited streaming release later in 2026.

For die-hard fans and new generations alike, this film offers a front-row seat to the birth of metal—and a reminder that Sabbath’s influence remains immortal.

Stay tuned for trailer drops and screening dates in the coming months.
