RADICAL Ferrari change revealed for Hamilton de…read more

A significant change has been announced by Ferrari ahead of Lewis Hamilton’s much-anticipated debut with the team in 2025. The seven-time world champion will join Scuderia Ferrari next season, marking a fresh chapter in his illustrious career after facing several challenges with Mercedes in recent years. Despite being a dominant force in Formula 1 for much of his career, Hamilton has only won two races since the 2022 regulation changes, with Mercedes struggling to match the pace of their competitors.

Hamilton’s move to Ferrari is seen as a bold step as he aims to chase a record-breaking eighth world title. While his recent years at Mercedes have been marked by frustration, with the team’s performance faltering due to their struggle with the new regulations, the switch to Ferrari offers a new opportunity. The team showed signs of improvement in 2024, even challenging McLaren for the constructors’ championship towards the end of the season. Ferrari achieved several race wins, including victories for Charles Leclerc in Monaco and Monza, as well as back-to-back wins at the United States and Mexican Grands Prix.

However, it’s clear that Ferrari is undergoing a major transformation ahead of Hamilton’s arrival. Team principal Fred Vasseur has revealed that the team will make a radical change to their car concept for 2025. The new car will be almost entirely different from the SF-24, with Vasseur stating that less than one percent of the parts from the current car will be carried over to the new design. This marks a significant shift in Ferrari’s approach to their 2025 campaign, with the team embarking on a completely new project aimed at boosting their competitiveness.

While Vasseur expressed optimism about the project, he acknowledged that the true potential of the car would only become clear in the opening race of the season in Bahrain. He also noted the inherent risks of such a large-scale change, emphasizing that only in hindsight will they know how much of a gamble it was. Ferrari’s new car is expected to be a significant departure from their current design, and while Vasseur remains confident in the team’s work, he also cautioned that consistency will be key if they are to challenge for the championship.

Ferrari’s efforts to improve, coupled with Hamilton’s arrival, have heightened expectations for 2025. However, it’s clear that while the team is ambitious, the road to success will require overcoming significant challenges, especially in terms of maintaining performance consistency throughout the season.
