Looking at the current grid, Herbert identified Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team as the most likely successor to Verstappen’s position as the sport’s standout performer. The young Italian has made an extraordinary start to the season, claiming two victories in just three races and immediately establishing himself as a serious contender.
Herbert believes Antonelli represents the next leap in performance, much like Verstappen did when he rose to prominence.
