Ferrari Reacts to Disqualifications of Hamilton and Leclerc in Chinese Grand Prix………. read more

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has shared his views on the disqualifications of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc from the Chinese Grand Prix, which shook up the drivers’ standings. Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, was disqualified after his car showed excessive wear on the skid block, falling below the required minimum thickness of 9mm. Leclerc, on the other hand, was penalized for his SF-25 car being 1kg under the minimum weight limit.

In an official statement, Ferrari acknowledged the errors that led to both drivers’ disqualifications. The team emphasized that there was no intention to gain an unfair advantage through these infractions, underlining the honest nature of the mistake. The disqualifications were a significant setback for both drivers, who were expected to perform well in the race.

As a result of the penalties, Hamilton and Leclerc were relegated to 9th and 10th positions in the overall drivers’ standings. For Ferrari, the disqualifications also had a knock-on effect on their position in the constructors’ championship. With 17 points, Ferrari found themselves slipping into fifth place, now behind Williams in the standings.

The team principal, Fred Vasseur, has since clarified that the team is committed to learning from these mistakes and will take extra measures to ensure such issues are avoided in the future. While the disqualifications were undoubtedly disappointing, Ferrari remains focused on their goal of competing at the highest level in Formula 1.

For Hamilton and Leclerc, the disqualifications were a blow to their championship hopes, but both drivers are determined to bounce back in the upcoming races. Ferrari, too, will be working hard to regain their momentum and climb back up in the constructors’ standings. The team’s immediate challenge will be to address the issues that led to the penalties and ensure that their cars meet all technical specifications in future races.

While the disqualifications are a tough pill to swallow for both the drivers and the team, Ferrari’s statement reflects a commitment to fairness and transparency. The team will no doubt be looking ahead to the next race with a renewed focus on securing strong results, with the aim of recovering lost ground and returning to the competitive form they aspire to maintain throughout

the season.
