In a thrilling 2025 Chinese Grand Prix Sprint, Lewis Hamilton made an impressive debut for Ferrari, claiming his first Sprint win for the team. Despite intense pressure from Max Verstappen, Hamilton maintained his lead, finishing ahead of Oscar Piastri, who took second. Verstappen, who started in second, rounded out the top three.

The race saw Hamilton hold off Verstappen’s early challenges as they battled for the lead from the start. Piastri initially struggled to pass Verstappen but eventually managed to push forward, while McLaren’s Lando Norris faced an early setback after a mistake dropped him from sixth to ninth.

Throughout the race, Hamilton and Verstappen showed their class at the front, with George Russell securing fourth place and Yuki Tsunoda moving up to sixth. Hamilton, battling graining tires, managed to maintain his lead, even setting the fastest lap to extend his advantage. Verstappen continued to challenge, but a minor mistake allowed Hamilton to pull away.

Piastri’s late move on Verstappen helped him close the gap to Hamilton, while Russell fought off Charles Leclerc for fourth. As the race ended, Hamilton crossed the line 7 seconds clear of Piastri, with Verstappen finishing in third. The action-packed event also saw rookies and veterans engaging in exciting battles throughout the field, with Pierre Gasly facing a post-race investigation for a grid-related incident.
