I’m enjoying life, you know? So every time I jump in the car, I just try to do the best I can, and I’m not thinking about anything else, to be honest. Because I feel good in life, in general, whether that’s inside or outside of the car, and that is actually what matters the most.”
Rather than letting the current situation dampen his spirits, Verstappen has been putting in extra work behind the scenes. He has been dedicating time to the Red Bull simulator to help accelerate the development of the RB21 and provide feedback that could aid the team in improving the car’s performance. Verstappen’s unwavering belief in the team contrasts with the concerns surrounding Red Bull’s ability to catch up to their rivals in the early stages of the 2025 season.
Team Principal Christian Horner echoed Verstappen’s positive attitude, urging patience in the face of a challenging start. “It’s race two, you can’t be that defeatist,” Horner said. “We are eight points behind in the constructors’ after two races. There is everything to play for. If nothing else, last year teaches you that you can start as strong as you like, but it’s about how you finish.”
Horner’s comments reflect the sense of optimism within Red Bull, despite the early struggles.
