In a sensational finish to his debut campaign, 16-year-old Otis Lawrence of the Aston Martin Aramco Esports Team captured his second race win of the Formula One Sim Racing World Championship, sealing the 2025 season with a dramatic last-lap triumph.

The young British driver, competing in his first season at the elite level, delivered a performance to remember in the final round. Overwhelmed by the emotion of his win, Otis admitted the moment had left him speechless—literally. “I’ve lost my voice absolutely screaming my lungs out,” he said shortly after the race. “It was brilliant to get the win in such a good way. There’s no better feeling after working so hard for a win. I’m full of adrenaline and absolutely buzzing.”

Otis’s rise has been one of the standout stories of the 2025 F1 Sim Racing season. Entering the championship as a relatively unknown rookie, he quickly established himself as a serious competitor, overcoming the usual hurdles of a debut campaign to claim two race victories. Reflecting on his journey, he confessed even he didn’t expect things to go this well. “I knew I would do well in my rookie season, but I didn’t expect it to go this well. There were definitely ups and downs, but as a team, Aston Martin Aramco has done an incredible job,” he said.

Otis also took the time to acknowledge the support he received throughout the season. “Duncan [Hofland] and Fab [Donoso] have been fantastic. Tijs [Rook], Axel [Benedetto], Miguel [Faísca] – all brilliant. Everyone has played a part in helping me to get to this moment, and I can’t thank them all enough.”

What makes his achievements even more impressive is that he has been juggling his racing commitments with school responsibilities and exams. Despite this, Otis has made a name for himself as one of the brightest young talents in the sport.

Looking ahead, he’s already focused on what’s next. “Next season is my main focus now. I’m going to try to win the Championship. With two race wins in my rookie season, I feel very confident,” he said. But before that, Otis plans to take a well-earned break. “I’m going to take a good break from the game, chill out, enjoy everything, catch up on some schoolwork and come back stronger next season.”
