Three Broncos Players Selected to 2025 Pro Bowl Games as Starters for the AFC
The Denver Broncos are proud to announce that three of their top playmakers have been selected to the 2025 Pro Bowl Games as starters for the American Football Conference (AFC). Cornerback Pat Surtain II, outside linebacker Nik Bonitto, and return specialist Marvin Mims Jr. have been chosen to represent the Broncos in the Pro Bowl Games, which will take place in Orlando, Florida.
This marks the third consecutive year that Surtain has earned Pro Bowl honors, a testament to his exceptional skills and consistency on the field. Mims, who has now been named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first two seasons, leads the National Football League (NFL) in punt return average. Bonitto, a first-time Pro Bowl selection, leads the Broncos in sacks with 11.5 and has been a dominant force on the defensive line.
The Broncos also had several players named as Pro Bowl alternates, including guard Quinn Meinerz, long snapper Mitch Fraboni, kicker Wil Lutz, tackle Garett Bolles, fullback Mike Burton, defensive lineman Zach Allen, quarterback Bo Nix, and safety Brandon Jones.
Surtain’s selection to the Pro Bowl is a notable achievement, as he becomes just the fifth Broncos player since the 1970 merger to earn three Pro Bowl nods in his first four seasons. He also ranks fifth among Broncos cornerbacks in terms of Pro Bowl selections, trailing only Champ Bailey, Louis Wright, Aqib Talib, and Chris Harris Jr.
According to Next Gen Stats, Surtain has allowed the fewest yards per snap and the lowest passer rating of 120 cornerbacks with at least 25 targets in 2024. His impressive performance has earned him numerous accolades, including AFC Defensive Player of the Week and AFC Defensive Player of the Month for November.
Bonitto’s selection to the Pro Bowl is also a significant achievement, as he becomes the first Broncos outside linebacker to earn a Pro Bowl nod since Bradley Chubb in 2020. His 11.5 sacks lead the Broncos, and he has also notched a pair of defensive touchdowns, two forced fumbles, 14 tackles for loss, and 22 quarterback hits.
Mims’ selection to the Pro Bowl as a return specialist is a testament to his exceptional skills in this area. He leads the NFL in punt return average, with a 15.7-yard average that is nearly a yard more than the next closest qualifying player.
The Pro Bowl Games will feature a variety of competitions leading up to a flag football game between the AFC and NFC on Sunday, February 2, at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. The Pro Bowl Skills Showdown will take place several days earlier on Thursday, January 30, from 5-6:30 p.m. MT.
