Suzuka, one of Formula 1’s most iconic circuits, is set to undergo significant changes ahead of the 2025 season. This update comes as part of regular maintenance at the circuit in preparation for the Japanese Grand Prix, scheduled for April 6, 2025. The resurfacing work has been designed to improve grip, drainage, and flatness, offering a smoother driving surface. The track’s officials have highlighted that while there is still some remaining soil, the new surface has already demonstrated its excellent performance characteristics. Maintenance work will be completed by mid-February, making the track ready for testing and racing.
In addition to the resurfacing, Suzuka will also see a change in the kerbs, which are being sharpened to encourage drivers to push their limits. Hamilton, a longtime admirer of Suzuka, previously referred to the first sector of the circuit as the best in all of Formula 1.
