Former F1 Boss Explains Why Lewis Hamilton Faces… read more
Former Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has suggested that Lewis Hamilton will face internal challenges at Ferrari when he joins the Italian team in 2025. According to Ecclestone, Hamilton’s arrival could create tension within the team, as some Ferrari insiders may see him as a threat to Charles Leclerc’s position as their top driver.
Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, shocked the F1 world by announcing his departure from Mercedes after over a decade with the team. While his move to Ferrari has been widely celebrated by fans, Ecclestone believes that not everyone at Maranello is thrilled about the British driver’s presence.
“Lewis is an outsider coming into a team that has always prioritized its own people. There will be those within Ferrari who don’t want to see him succeed,” Ecclestone said in a recent interview. He also pointed out that Hamilton’s arrival could shift the team’s focus away from Leclerc, potentially causing friction between the drivers.
Ferrari, which has struggled to secure a championship since 2007, hopes that Hamilton’s experience will bring them back to the top. However, adapting to Ferrari’s unique team culture and internal politics may prove to be one of the biggest challenges of his career.
As the 2025 season approaches, all eyes will be on how Hamilton integrates into the legendary Italian team and whether he can overcome the obstacles Ecclestone predicts.
