Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has hinted that Lewis Hamilton might face difficulties in his debut season with the Scuderia in 2025, citing the team’s unique car characteristics and adaptability challenges.
Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, will make a sensational switch from Mercedes to Ferrari at the end of 2024, partnering with Leclerc. However, the Monegasque driver suggested that Ferrari’s car demands a distinct driving style, which could pose an adjustment period for the British legend.
“Every team has its own philosophy, and what works at one place just doesn’t work the same way somewhere else,” Leclerc said. “Ferrari has its own way of doing things, and it can take time to adapt.”
Hamilton, who has spent his entire F1 career with Mercedes-powered cars, will have to adjust to Ferrari’s setup, which has historically been tricky to master. While his talent and experience are undeniable, Leclerc’s remarks suggest that early struggles could be possible before Hamilton finds his rhythm at Maranello.
