The day continued with a trip to the Fiorano test track, which is situated against the backdrop of Enzo Ferrari’s house and a small square now named in honor of seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher. Here, Hamilton and the Ferrari leaders posed for the traditional first-day photos, with the overcast skies and drizzle adding a touch of familiar weather from Hamilton’s home country, the UK.
Hamilton was given a tour of various parts of Ferrari’s operations, including a visit to the famous Fiorano house and pit garage. He also had the opportunity to see the office where Enzo Ferrari used to observe his team. Following this, Hamilton returned to the Maranello headquarters for further interactions with the management team and Piero Ferrari, before embarking on an extensive daylong program that included visits to several departments to better understand the inner workings of the team.
Later in the week, Hamilton is expected to get behind the wheel of the Ferrari F1-75, the team’s 2022 Formula 1 car, for a short test at Fiorano to begin his on-track preparations for the upcoming season.
