Lando Norris has been disqualified from the British Grand Prix after a post-race investigation by the FIA.
The McLaren driver, who initially celebrated a strong finish in front of his home fans at Silverstone, was later found to have violated sporting regulations during the closing laps of the race. The FIA stated that a detailed analysis of race data and video footage uncovered a serious breach.
“After conducting post-race checks and reviewing evidence, Car #4, driven by Lando Norris, has been excluded from the official results of the 2025 British Grand Prix,” the FIA announced. “The infraction concerns an unauthorised manoeuvre and failure to follow procedural instructions outlined in Article [X] of the Sporting Code.”
McLaren expressed disappointment but acknowledged the governing body’s decision, adding that they would examine the report in detail before deciding whether to appeal.
Norris, who received enthusiastic support from the home crowd all weekend, has yet to publicly address the disqualification.
The verdict significantly reshapes the race’s final standings and delivers a serious blow to Norris’ championship aspirations. More information is expected as the situation evolves.
