Max Verstappen clinched his fourth consecutive Japanese Grand Prix victory at Suzuka, reinforcing his dominance in the 2025 Formula 1 season. Starting from pole position, Verstappen led the race from start to finish, with McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri securing second and third places, respectively.
The race unfolded without major incidents, with all 20 cars completing the 53-lap distance without yellow flags or rain disruptions. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished in fourth place, followed by Mercedes drivers George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Lewis Hamilton, despite his efforts, could only manage seventh position.
A notable performance came from Racing Bulls rookie Isack Hadjar, who finished eighth, and teenager Ollie Bearman, who secured tenth place, both earning valuable points. Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda, making his Red Bull debut, finished 12th after overtaking teammate Liam Lawson early in the race.
A pivotal moment occurred during pit stops when Norris attempted to overtake Verstappen after re-entering the track. The maneuver led to Norris veering onto the grass, but race stewards deemed the incident as hard but fair racing, taking no further action.
This victory propels Verstappen to within one point of Norris in the drivers’ championship standings, intensifying the competition at the season’s midpoint.
