F1 team announce OFFICIAL name change ahead of 2025 season.

In a significant development within the Formula 1 community, Red Bull’s secondary team has officially announced a rebranding ahead of the 2025 season. The team, previously known as Visa Cash App RB (VCARB), will now compete under the name Visa Cash App Racing Bulls. This change aims to establish a clearer and more cohesive identity within the motorsport arena.

The rebranding journey of this team has been both dynamic and strategic. Originally entering the Formula 1 scene as Minardi, the team was acquired by Red Bull in 2005 and subsequently rebranded as Scuderia Toro Rosso. In 2020, another transformation took place, and the team became known as Scuderia AlphaTauri, promoting Red Bull’s fashion label. The 2024 season introduced the Visa Cash App RB moniker, a name that, despite its official status, led to some confusion among fans and stakeholders. To address this, the decision was made to adopt the Racing Bulls identity for the upcoming 2025 season.

Peter Bayer, the Chief Executive Officer of the team, acknowledged the challenges faced with the previous branding. He noted that the rapid rebranding ahead of the 2024 season contributed to inconsistencies and misunderstandings regarding the team’s official name. Bayer emphasized the importance of a clear and distinct identity, stating, “We’ve been struggling to a certain extent with making it clear to people what the team name is, and seen so many versions.”

Laurent Mekies, the Team Principal, further clarified the new branding during an interview, stating, “Our team is Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, not RB.” This statement underscores the team’s commitment to establishing a strong and recognizable presence in the Formula 1 circuit.

The rebranding to Racing Bulls is not merely a cosmetic change but reflects a deeper strategic vision. By aligning the team’s name more closely with the iconic Red Bull brand, the organization aims to leverage its global recognition and convey a sense of dynamism and competitiveness inherent to the brand’s identity.

The official 2025 Formula 1 entry list, published by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), confirms this name change. The document lists the team as Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, solidifying its new identity in the official records.

This rebranding also comes at a time of significant transitions within the team’s structure and lineup. The 2024 season saw drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda representing the team. However, changes are anticipated for the 2025 season, with Yuki Tsunoda expected to continue, while emerging talents from the Red Bull junior program are being considered for the second seat. These developments are part of a broader strategy to enhance the team’s performance and competitiveness in the upcoming season.

The Racing Bulls’ leadership is optimistic that this rebranding will resonate well with fans, sponsors, and the broader Formula 1 community. By adopting a name that reflects both its heritage and future ambitions, the team aims to strengthen its position and identity within the highly competitive world of Formula 1 racing.

As the 2025 season approaches, all eyes will be on the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls to see how this rebranding influences their performance on the track and their engagement with the global Formula 1 audience.
