The car display procedure is a routine part of the Grand Prix weekend and does not indicate any violation or misconduct by the drivers or their respective teams. The purpose of this event is to offer media representatives and personnel in the paddock the opportunity to examine the cars more closely before the competitive action begins. It takes place prior to the first free practice session on Friday and is especially relevant when new or unique aerodynamic or bodywork components are introduced.
According to FIA regulations, if only one of a team’s two cars features major updates not previously used in any other Grand Prix, that particular vehicle must be presented during the car display. In a public statement, the FIA clarified the procedures in case of adverse weather conditions during the display. If rain is forecasted near the time of the display, teams will be notified at least five minutes in advance. In such cases, the display can take place inside each team’s garage rather than out on the paddock. Furthermore, if it starts raining during the event, teams are advised to keep their cars in position under protective awnings.
