Lewis Hamilton Admits He ‘Doesn’t Know the Rain Settings’ as Brutal Ferrari Debut Looms

March 15, 2025 – Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has admitted he is still unfamiliar with Ferrari’s wet-weather settings ahead of what could be a challenging debut season with the Scuderia. As the 2025 season opener approaches, Hamilton’s transition from Mercedes to Ferrari has been one of the most anticipated moves in recent F1 history.

Speaking to reporters after pre-season testing in Bahrain, Hamilton confessed that adapting to Ferrari’s SF-25 car in different conditions has been a learning curve. “I still don’t know the rain settings as well as I’d like to,” he said. “Every car has its own characteristics, and I’m still working with the team to fine-tune everything.”

Hamilton’s Ferrari switch has come with high expectations, but early testing has suggested the team may still be chasing Red Bull and McLaren in terms of outright pace. With unpredictable weather predicted for early races like the Chinese Grand Prix, Hamilton’s lack of familiarity with Ferrari’s wet-weather performance could prove costly.

Despite these concerns, the 39-year-old Briton remains optimistic. “It’s a new challenge, and I love that,” he said. “Ferrari has an incredible team, and we’re pushing hard to be competitive from the start.”

Fans are eagerly awaiting Hamilton’s official race debut for Ferrari at the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix. However, with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and McLaren’s Lando Norris looking strong, the F1 legend might face a tough road ahead in his quest for an eighth world title.
