Lando Norris recently made a playful comment on Lewis Hamilton’s Instagram post, after F1 fans spotted a subtle detail in Hamilton’s first official photo with Ferrari. The seven-time world champion, who announced his switch to Ferrari in February of the previous year, visited the Ferrari headquarters in Maranello for the first time on January 19, 2025, ahead of the new F1 season. To mark this milestone, Ferrari shared a striking image of Hamilton standing outside the iconic white house that once belonged to Enzo Ferrari.

In his Instagram post, Hamilton captioned the photo “new era,” signaling the beginning of his new chapter with the legendary Scuderia Ferrari team. However, it was the subtle visual details in the image that caught the attention of fans. Some eagle-eyed observers on Reddit pointed out that Hamilton was positioned in front of seven open windows, with a door to an eighth visible in the shot. This detail, particularly the number seven, seemed to hold special significance, leading fans to speculate about its symbolic meaning. One fan remarked on X (formerly Twitter): “Lewis Hamilton’s first photo with Ferrari has 7 windows and a door to the 8th. I’ve never seen a picture with more aura.”

While fans pondered the deeper meaning behind the image, McLaren driver Lando Norris chimed in with a one-word comment: “Don.” This comment, though brief, didn’t go unnoticed. The word “Don” is often used in Italian culture to refer to a boss or a powerful figure, often with a Mafia connotation. It is also used to describe someone with a commanding presence or someone dressed in a particularly stylish or authoritative manner. It’s clear that Norris wasn’t suggesting any involvement in organized crime, but rather playfully acknowledging Hamilton’s “boss-like” appearance in the photo, as well as his dominant status in the F1 world.

The comment from Norris highlighted the admiration and respect that Hamilton commands in the motorsport community. It was a nod to Hamilton’s stature not only as a driver but as a global icon in the sport, ready to take on the challenges of his new role at Ferrari.

Hamilton’s first official visit to Maranello also included a statement from the 40-year-old driver, expressing his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to join Ferrari. In the statement, Hamilton reflected on his long-standing dream of racing for the legendary team: “There are some days that you know you’ll remember forever and today, my first as a Scuderia Ferrari HP driver, is one of those days,” he said. “I’ve been lucky enough to have achieved things in my career I never thought possible, but part of me has always held on to that dream of racing in red. I couldn’t be happier to realize that dream today.”

Hamilton went on to thank key figures at Ferrari, including John Elkann, Benedetto Vigna, and Fred Vasseur, for their trust in him and for making him part of the Ferrari family. His move to Ferrari marks the beginning of a new chapter in his illustrious career, and his fans are eagerly awaiting to see how he performs in the iconic red colors of Scuderia Ferrari. The symbolic image, along with the playful comments from fellow drivers, underscores the excitement surrounding Hamilton’s transition to the team and what lies ahead in the 2025 F1 season.
