On Thursday, Ferrari officially announced the name of their 2025 chassis, the SF-25, through a short social media clip. The teaser displayed a darker red shade with black accents, fueling speculation that black would play a significant role in the SF-25’s livery. Renowned Italian journalist Giuliano Duchessa commented on the clip, suggesting that Ferrari is aiming for a balance between continuity and innovation before the major design overhaul expected for their 2026 car, the ‘678.’ This aligns with earlier reports that Ferrari intends to introduce a bold new livery for Hamilton’s first season with the team, with a deeper red shade anticipated to dominate the SF-25.
While the new livery is expected to incorporate darker tones, it is unlikely to resemble the one-off burgundy livery Ferrari used during the 2020 Tuscan Grand Prix at Mugello to celebrate their 1,000th race. Instead, the SF-25 will likely feature a more subtle and refined design, blending red with black accents.
