In a shocking development ahead of the British Grand Prix, Red Bull Racing has officially confirmed that Max Verstappen will be leaving the team to join Mercedes, marking one of the most dramatic transfers in Formula 1 history.

The announcement follows days of intense speculation and behind-the-scenes turmoil within the Red Bull camp. Sources suggest internal disagreements and recent performance concerns may have played a critical role in Verstappen’s decision to trigger a reported exit clause in his contract.

Toto Wolff and the Mercedes team have reportedly secured the reigning world champion in a swift and secretive negotiation process, blindsiding much of the F1 paddock.

While Red Bull team principal Christian Horner expressed “disappointment” over the move, he hinted at deeper issues within the team that contributed to the exit: “This wasn’t entirely unexpected, given the climate. We wish Max the best in his next chapter.”

Mercedes, on the other hand, has called the agreement a “landmark deal” that will redefine their post-Hamilton era and revive their championship ambitions.

The Verstappen-to-Mercedes shocker is already sending ripples through the F1 world as the grid braces for a historic shake-up.
