Bo Nix’s Stellar Performance Leads Broncos to Playoff Berth
In a dominant display, Bo Nix led the Denver Broncos to a resounding 38-0 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, securing a playoff berth and ending an eight-year postseason drought for the team. Nix’s outstanding performance was capped off with a literal victory lap, as he circled the lower bowl at Empower Field at Mile High to celebrate with the remaining fans.
Nix’s impressive stats for the day included completing his first 18 passes, three of which were touchdown passes, en route to setting the highest single-game completion percentage in franchise history. He became the first rookie in NFL history and the first Broncos quarterback to complete his first 18 passes, and his 18 consecutive completions also set a single-game mark in franchise history.

A lot of times when rookie quarterbacks come in, the expectations [are] set low, but he’s risen above all those expectations as a rookie.” Surtain also noted that Nix’s confidence and swagger have been key factors in his success.
Wide receiver Courtland Sutton echoed Surtain’s sentiments, saying, “Bo isn’t your average rookie. He comes in to work like a veteran. If no one knew that Bo was a rookie this year, and you just saw how he worked, and saw how he played on the field, no one would say, ‘That’s a rookie.'” Sutton also praised Nix’s ability to block out external noise and stay focused on his goals.
