Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has openly called for a deeper internal investigation at Ferrari after another frustrating weekend for the Italian team, admitting that he wants answers regarding the car’s inconsistent performance and strategic struggles. The Monegasque star did not hide his disappointment after the race, stating that the team needs to properly analyze what went wrong because the current situation is becoming increasingly difficult to accept.

Leclerc’s comments came after Ferrari once again failed to maximize its potential during a crucial Formula One weekend. Although expectations around the Scuderia remain extremely high, the team has continued to struggle with consistency, pace management, tyre degradation, and race execution. The Ferrari driver admitted that there are unresolved issues within the car package that require urgent attention if the team wants to compete seriously with rivals such as McLaren, Red Bull, and Mercedes.

Speaking after the race weekend, Leclerc explained that he was not satisfied with simply accepting the result and moving on. Instead, he insisted that Ferrari must carefully investigate the reasons behind the disappointing performance. According to him, understanding the weaknesses of the car is now essential because the team cannot afford to continue losing ground in the championship battle.

The Ferrari star acknowledged that there have been moments this season where the car appeared competitive, but he stressed that those flashes of speed have not been consistent enough across entire race weekends. In qualifying sessions, Ferrari has occasionally shown strong one-lap pace, yet the team often struggles during races when tyre management and long-run performance become critical. Leclerc believes these recurring issues point to deeper technical problems that must be solved quickly.

The 2026 Formula One season has already produced several frustrating moments for Ferrari. While rival teams continue bringing upgrades that improve performance, Ferrari has found itself unable to fully unlock the potential of its own package. Leclerc’s frustration has gradually become more visible over recent races, and his latest comments suggest concern is growing inside the Maranello camp.

Despite remaining loyal to Ferrari and continuing to show commitment to the project, Leclerc admitted that it is difficult to remain satisfied when the team repeatedly falls short of expectations. He emphasized that Ferrari has the resources, talent, and ambition to fight for victories, which makes the current struggles even more painful.

The Monegasque driver also hinted that the problems may not be limited to one specific area. Instead, he suggested that Ferrari needs a complete review of several aspects of its operation, including setup decisions, race pace analysis, tyre behavior, and overall car balance. According to Leclerc, the team must identify exactly where performance is being lost because small weaknesses are becoming major disadvantages against elite rivals.

Ferrari entered the season hoping to mount a serious championship challenge, especially with the arrival of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton as Leclerc’s teammate. The pairing of two elite drivers generated enormous excitement among Formula One fans, and many believed Ferrari finally had the ingredients needed to return to the top of the sport. However, the reality of the season has so far been far more complicated.

Leclerc has often managed to extract impressive performances from the car despite its limitations, but even his individual brilliance has not been enough to consistently challenge for wins. Several races have exposed Ferrari’s inability to match the outright race pace of McLaren and Red Bull, while Mercedes has also shown signs of improvement in recent weekends.

One of the biggest frustrations for Leclerc appears to be the unpredictability of the Ferrari package. On some circuits, the car looks competitive and balanced, while on others it suddenly becomes difficult to drive and inconsistent over long stints. That unpredictability makes race preparation harder and leaves the team constantly reacting rather than controlling events.

Leclerc’s demand for an investigation also reflects the immense pressure surrounding Ferrari. As the most iconic team in Formula One history, Ferrari is expected to fight for championships every season. Anything less immediately triggers criticism from fans, media, and former drivers. The pressure becomes even greater when the team possesses a strong driver lineup but still cannot consistently deliver results.

The Ferrari driver made it clear that he is not interested in excuses. Instead, he wants the team to focus on finding solutions. He stressed that understanding the reasons behind their struggles is the first step toward recovery. Without proper analysis, Ferrari risks repeating the same mistakes throughout the remainder of the season.

Leclerc’s emotional honesty has become one of the defining characteristics of his Ferrari career. Unlike some drivers who prefer diplomatic answers, Leclerc frequently speaks openly about the team’s strengths and weaknesses. While his comments occasionally generate headlines, they also highlight his deep desire to succeed with Ferrari.

Over the years, Leclerc has repeatedly shown patience and loyalty despite several difficult campaigns. Since joining Ferrari in 2019, he has experienced thrilling victories alongside painful disappointments. He has seen the team rise and fall in competitiveness, yet he continues to believe Ferrari can eventually return to championship-winning form.

Still, the latest frustrations clearly show that patience is being tested. Formula One is an intensely competitive environment, and drivers at the highest level want immediate progress. Leclerc knows that opportunities to fight for world championships do not last forever, especially in a sport where rival teams are constantly evolving.

The timing of his comments is also important because Formula One is entering a crucial phase of development before future regulation changes. Teams are already balancing current-season performance with long-term planning, making technical decisions even more critical. Ferrari must therefore decide how aggressively it wants to continue developing the current car while also preparing for the future.

Meanwhile, rival teams continue making rapid progress. McLaren has emerged as one of the strongest forces on the grid, Red Bull remains dangerous despite occasional setbacks, and Mercedes appears to be recovering competitiveness. Ferrari cannot afford to stand still if it wants to remain part of the title conversation.

Leclerc’s comments are unlikely to create panic inside Ferrari, but they will certainly increase pressure on engineers and senior management to deliver improvements quickly. His demand to “understand” the situation reflects a growing urgency within the team. Ferrari’s supporters are desperate to see the legendary Italian outfit return to championship glory, and Leclerc himself desperately wants to lead that revival.

For now, Ferrari faces an important period of self-analysis. The team must determine whether its issues are primarily aerodynamic, mechanical, strategic, or operational. More importantly, Ferrari must ensure that future upgrades genuinely solve problems rather than simply masking them temporarily.

Despite the frustration, Leclerc remains determined to keep fighting. His commitment to Ferrari has never been questioned, and he continues pushing the team forward even during difficult moments. However, his latest remarks serve as a clear warning that improvements are urgently needed if Ferrari hopes to compete consistently at the very front of Formula One once again.
