The FIA has now officially confirmed the final classification of the 2026 Miami Grand Prix, concluding a dramatic race weekend shaped by on-track battles and decisive post-race penalties.
Round four of the season at the Miami International Autodrome saw Kimi Antonelli continue his dominant form. The Mercedes driver converted pole position into victory for the third time this season, maintaining a perfect record from pole and extending his lead in the drivers’ standings. Despite pressure from Lando Norris, Antonelli controlled the race well to take the chequered flag.
Norris pushed hard throughout but ultimately had to settle for second place, finishing just over three seconds behind. His McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri secured third, completing a strong double podium for the team.
George Russell delivered a composed drive to finish fourth for Mercedes, while reigning champion Max Verstappen took fifth. Verstappen received a five-second time penalty for crossing the pit exit line, but retained his position due to a more severe penalty applied elsewhere.
That major penalty involved Charles Leclerc. After finishing sixth on track despite sustaining late damage, the Ferrari driver was handed a 20-second penalty for repeatedly leaving the circuit. This dropped him to eighth in the final standings.
The reshuffle promoted Lewis Hamilton to sixth, while Franco Colapinto claimed seventh for Alpine. Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon completed the top ten for Williams.
Further down the order, several drivers finished a lap or more behind, and four retirements added to the race’s unpredictability.
