The motorsport world has been left in mourning after Isle of Man TT rider Daniel Ingham tragically lost his life following a crash during qualifying for this year’s event. The 33-year-old racer from Melton Mowbray was involved in a serious incident on Wednesday evening while competing in the famous and dangerous road racing competition.
According to officials, the accident happened at Doran’s Bend during the opening lap of the third qualifying session. Emergency services responded immediately at the scene, but organisers later confirmed the devastating news that Ingham had succumbed to his injuries.
The Isle of Man TT released an emotional statement paying tribute to the experienced racer, describing him as a respected and admired member of the road racing community.
The statement read: “The Isle of Man TT Races regrets to confirm that Daniel Ingham, 33, from Melton Mowbray, was killed in an incident during qualifying yesterday at the Isle of Man TT Races.
“The accident occurred at Doran’s Bend, on the first lap of the third qualifying session.”
Ingham’s death has sent shockwaves through the paddock and among fans of the iconic event, which is widely regarded as one of the most dangerous races in motorsport. Riders compete on the legendary Mountain Course, a 37.73-mile circuit made up of public roads winding through villages, countryside and mountain terrain on the Isle of Man.

“He had achieved a number of podium finishes during his 10 years’ experience of competing — most notably achieving first place in the 2024 Senior Manx Grand Prix.
“A popular and well-respected member of the road racing community, Daniel’s passion for the sport was evident to all that knew him.”
